As part of my own do-or-die-self-mutilation-kick-my-own-ass-into-gear training session I sat down today and had the most productive afternoon yet. I payed 150 for a domain name so that I could make a website... therefore, I had to sit down and make my website. It's not full up yet, but in choosing the name Chimeric-Concept.com, I realised that my usual pheonix mascott could confuse things. I chose the phrase because chimeric means 'imaginative', 'fanciful', and 'boundless flights of imagination'... but it also means... (obviously)... Chimera, or Chimeara. Therefore, I shruged and decided to put my creature skills into play and sat down with painter to make a piece to mascott my new web site.

Enjoy. I love it.

Well you definitely got my vote on this image.... simply awesome...luv the color tones and the softness of it... one thing i dun really fancy is the tameness of the lion... it lacks the pride it should exude... maybe its the mane you did, its too neat and well combed... well that's my 2 cents worth!

I love the subtlety of this...it's not monstrous, and one has to really look at it to realize the other parts.

Thank you very much. Exactly what I was aiming for. I didn't want some fearsome badass chimera. I wanted something that could symbolize the secondary meanings of the word - so I made it more majestic and dreamlike.

what an awesome painting! the chimera is one of the most dificult mythological creatures to draw, because of all the diferent animal parts, but in playing with shadows and lights you actually made it look simple and "realistic" (as much as it's possible, of course). it was a great idea. I also love the sky...
